For many years, she was a veteran of the Beauty Industry, having maintained a successful career as a Licensed Esthetician and Makeup and Brow Artist for over 3 decades, building and maintaining her client base across the Entertainment Industry and with private clients, which helped her develop deep relationship-building and client attunement skills that, in addition to her own healing journey, led to a career shift into therapy in 2014.
She is currently an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, License #164017, and a member of AAMFT ID# 262397, and sees clients under the supervision of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Rhisie Hengtes, License #90416. At NESS, she works with a combination of court-mandated and self-referred clients ranging in support needs for substance use, sexual offenses, criminality, mood and personality disorders, as well as those who are grieving, dealing with depression and anxiety disorders, relational challenges, chronic illness, and those simply seeking self-improvement. She works with adults of all genders. She sees couples, families, and individuals. Her approach is psychoanalytic, emotionally focused, and trauma-informed. She balances processing with skills-building to reach goals.
She’s also a business owner and the creator of Radiant Survivorship, a web-based resource database for cancer survivors. In her spare time, she’s a singer/songwriter, writer, music lover, yogi, animal mom, a 3-time cancer survivor & Metavivor, and an avid meditator. She enjoys immersive healing experiences like sound baths, Holotropic Breathwork, and South American medicine ceremonies. Bio
“I am an emotionally focused, trauma-informed therapist who leans into Psychoanalysis when appropriate to support change. I approach sessions from an attachment, strength-based, and resiliency-focused lens, giving space to personal narratives while applying unconditional positive regard to my clients.
I encourage clients to tune in to their subconscious processes to observe and understand unconscious motivations, increasing empowerment through self-awareness and helping to eliminate patterns of negative thinking and belief systems that are detrimental to their well-being through insight, self-acceptance, skills building, and behavior change.
I include systemic and culturally attuned conceptualization considerations in my treatment plans, and I champion clients whether they need trauma recovery, support during challenging circumstances, space to process and heal, or to create goals and achieve them.
This approach is helpful whether you are coming to therapy for self-improvement, having relationship challenges, grieving, struggling with substance use, anxiety, depression, or living with a chronic illness or mental health diagnosis.”
